March is the month in which International Women's Day is celebrated. A date with a special meaning, as it is a day when gender equality is claimed.
We, at Santosom, are proud to say we are a company ahead even in this sector.
Portugal has a long tradition of women's work in the industrial sector, especially in the textile industry. However, in the wood sector, female participation is very small.
Our reality is quite different. We have or have had women in all departments of the company and thatchoice is not made on the basis of gender but on competence.
Our team is made up of 30% women, the vast majority of whom are aged between 40 and 49, having babies? or school-age children. This reality does not interfere with our hiring patterns.
We move forward, side by side, as a company that is committed to gender equality, as there is no salary distinction, nor distinction of positions between men and women in Santosom team, . Most positions made up of women are strategic in the company.
